Our history

1967

In 1967, Mr. Jean-Guy Côté founded Compagnie Motoparts in Plessisville, laying the foundations for a company that was to become a major player in the industrial equipment and supplies sector. Since its inception, Motoparts has been committed to providing quality parts and exceptional service, carrying on the legacy of its visionary founder.

Histoire

1984

Originally occupying a 4,000 ft² building in 1967, the company’s facilities underwent a number of modifications in the course of its exceptional growth. The building was enlarged by 3,500 ft² in 1971. Then, in 1984, the company moved to a 62,000 ft² building on rue St-Calixte in Plessisville.

1986

The CompressAir Canada division was created in 1986. Since then, the company has repeatedly won the title of leading distributor in Canada of the Atlas Copco Inc. brand.

1990

In 1990, the creation of Fournitures Industrielles Pasco gave Motoparts Inc. a whole new dimension. The company’s visibility increased on the provincial scene, enabling it to become a supplier to the composite materials, metallurgy, forestry, paper and milling industries, as well as to the furniture and woodworking industries.

It also launches Servi Max, a small-tool maintenance and repair service created and integrated into the Pasco division’s activities to meet customer needs and support continuous improvement.

The Specialized Rental division offers various equipment rental management programs for the construction industry.

1992

Since 1992, CompressAir has offered a rental service: Division Énergétique.

This division covers all operations related to air compressors and their parts. With a highly qualified workforce, it is able to repair and maintain all makes of air compressors, and supply the parts needed to keep them running smoothly. It also specializes in the sale of rebuilt air compressors, and distributes Atlas Copco air compressors.

2022

Motoparts, along with its CompressAir and Pasco divisions, became the property of a group of Quebec investors, MB Capital and GEP Capital. This transition marks a significant turning point in the company’s history, ensuring its longevity and future development.

Motoparts and its CompressAir and Pasco divisions, well established since 1967 and recognized throughout the province as partners of choice for industrial companies, are proud to announce a major evolution with the launch of Equipex industrial equipment and supplies, marking a new era of growth and innovation in their strategic development.
